Biography

Bjørn Wiinblad (1918-2006) was a multitalented and internationally renowned Danish artist of the mid-20th Century. Idiocentric, joyful, bountiful, colorful, and whimsical, Wiinblad's style was inspired by Asian art more than the clean lines of his Scandinavian contemporaries. His pieces are celebrated for the fine detailing and expert craftsmanship; whether in ceramics, painting, tapestry, glass, costume or furniture design. Wiinblad received countless designs awards and his pieces are featured in numerous museums including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
