A strong and elegant design superbly executed. The flared tapering cylinder stem adorned with scrolls above a lobed sphere, on a circular base.
Designers mark: OLLERS
Schreuder & Olsson mark: The Queen of the Lake of Malar with SS and O flanking the crowned head.
Edvin Ollers (1888-1959) after studying at the School of Industrial Arts in Stockholm and School of Fine Arts in Gothenburg began designing for Kosta Glasworks in 1917. He had a long productive career designing for many glassworks, ceramics and metal works as well as painting. His works are represented in numerous leading Swedish museums including the National Gallery, Modern and Nordic Museum in Stockholm.
