The great Charles Sucsan at his expressive best in this boldly decorated mid century lamp. The rocket shape with a vertical geometric pattern and superlative glazing.

The artist Charles Sucsan was born in Paris in 1932 to Hungarian parents and studied studied art there and in Montreal. Ceramist, sculptor, and painter, he is known for his large scale public murals and his decorative objects in ceramics working throughout the 1960s and 1970s. His work is in the collection of the Musée du Haut-Richelieu, Quebec.
